Maintenance Technician
Can Corporation of America is a leader in the manufacturing of steel cans used in the agriculture and various other industries. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to ensure they are operating properly. This person will have excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of mechanics. This role also requires physical stamina and strength, as you’ll have to stand for long hours and occasionally carry heavy loads.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct preventive maintenance to mechanical devices
- Detect malfunctions through observation (sound or visual)
- Run diagnostic tests to ensure system functionality
- Repair broken or faulty machine parts
- Perform emergency repairs
- Choose appropriate materials based on mechanical needs
- Align and calibrate machine parts
- Monitor and report on project progress
- Adjust equipment to conform to Quality Standards
- Performs change overs on equipment to run different sizes of productts
- Inspect our wide range of equipment for worn and broke parts
- Troubleshoots mechanical components of the m/c during breakdown and maintenance
- Reads and understands operation manuals and had the ability to use different tool including measuring tools, such as Calipers and Micrometers
- Follow safety rules and regulations
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 2+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar role
- Trade or vocation school preferred but not required
- Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools
- Mechanical aptitude and ability
- Strong computer skills
- Physical dexterity
- Good troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
